Mission and Vision

The mission of the General Medicine Program, Faculty of Medicine, University of Prishtina is to meet European standards and European competencies of the doctor through quality curriculum, with qualified teachers, advanced teaching methodologies, measurable knowledge results, analytical skills, assessment , creative on competencies that meet the needs of society in an increasingly complex health system respecting the professional codes of ethics, research innovation and professional promotion outside Kosovo.

The mission of the General Medicine program is through strengthening academic development, strengthening professional competencies, scientific research, mobility of students and academic staff on an ongoing basis with the aim of advancing the health and well-being of the population and achieving international level and competition in market.               

The mission and vision of the program are in line with the mission and strategic objectives of the Faculty of Medicine,

  • General Medicine Curriculum comparable with European curricula, i.e. with the European competencies of Medical Education in Europe: (Learning Outcomes / Competences for Undergraduate Medical Education in Europe),
  • Supporting the leadership of the Faculty of Medicine in the continuous improvement of the quality in the delivery of programs at all levels;
  • Professional and efficient academic staff in linking the teaching process and scientific research;
  • Drafting and implementation of regulations and contemporary guidelines necessary for the teaching process and the functioning of the faculty in general;
  • Integration of theoretical knowledge with practical engagement of students, to professionally manage patients;
  • Student-centred teaching methods;
    Full use of the facilities provided by the University of Prishtina, University Clinical Center of Kosovo, University Clinical Center of Dentistry, National Institute of Public Health-NIPHK, Preclinical Institutes, National Blood Transfusion Center, Institute of Occupational Medicine, Center for the Development of Family Medicine and the Kosovo Agency for Medical Products.
