The Faculty of Medicine has been offering doctoral studies in Public Health since 2013. The doctoral study program in Public Health was initially accredited by the Kosovo Accreditation Agency for a 3-year period (2013-2016), then was re-accredited for the time period 2016-2020, and finally for the time period 2021-2024.
The doctoral program is in line with the National Qualifications Framework and the European Higher Education Area Qualifications Framework in the field of public health.
This program is structured based on the interdisciplinary and scientific approach under the paradigm "new public health" as a global development trend in the preparation of research teams working in the field of public health. Promoting scientific development and building a knowledge society itself are the focus of this program.
Doctoral studies in Public Health lasts three years (six semesters) with 180 ECTS according to the study curriculum.
The Public Health Curriculum provides the opportunity for PhD candidates to choose a field of research with a multidisciplinary approach and application of new evidence-based health care solutions through health monitoring, research of health problems and risks, education and empowerment of community and health issues problem solving.
This program aims at academic collaboration with international partners and public and private health and other institutions.
