The kick-off meeting of the project "Increasing research capacities in Kosovo - Nanoparticles in the Environment and in Medical Research - NanoKos" was held today at the Faculty of Medicine, this project is financed by the European Union in the amount of 1 million euros.
This project is coordinated by Professor Armond Daci, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, where UP is a joint partner with the King's University in London (leader), the University of Milan and the University of Parma.
The opening of the meeting was made by Rector Qerim Qerimi, while the launch of the project was also greeted by partners and other important personalities, including: the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Suzana Manzhuka-Kerliu, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, of Technology and Innovation, Edona Maloku-Berdyna, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Diaspora, Liza Gashi, the head of the sector for cooperation from the EU office in Kosovo, Johannes Madsen and the ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, His Excellency Antonello de Riu.
Meanwhile, the team of project coordinators from the partner universities, consisting of professors: Driton Vllasaliu, Guissepe Danilo Norata, Giagiacomo Beretta, Michele Miragoli and Armond Daci, presented the NanoKos project to the audience.
The project presents opportunities for training staff, students of all levels in Partner Universities, support in field conferences, scientific equipment, grants and scientific projects, support of researchers from the Diaspora in Kosovo, for visits and training of staff and students as well as prestigious scientific publications .
After the meeting, a workshop was held where researchers and students were informed in more detail about the opportunities offered by the project.
